About Our Farm Camps

The Educational Farm at Joppa Hill offers half day and full day summer farm classes for children. We are an independent non-profit organization supported by grants, corporate giving programs and our members.

Our  primary goal is to provide children with a safe and fun learning experience. We strive to celebrate accomplishments and to encourage discipline, effectiveness, independent actions and independent problem-solving. We give the children age oriented tasks and allow them to do the work whenever possible.

We maintain an ethic of respect for all the children and animals, and always give them honest answers. Every staff member works hard to create a place where children can gain a real sense of importance and self-confidence.

We want for all children who visit The Educational Farm to feel that they are valued and honored for the contributions they make at the farm. We also want them to feel as if the farm is *their farm* - to carry the memories and the understandings they have garnered from their time here with them throughout their lives.
Camper groups:

Students will be divided according to age into two separate groups, ages 4-5 (15 children with two counselors) and ages 6-11 (24 children with three counselors).

If you would like your child to be in a group with a specific individual, please make note of that on the registration form. However, please be aware that if the children are not similar ages, we may not be able to honor your request.

Cancellations and Refunds:

A 10% administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations. In addition the following schedule will be followed:

If cancelled more than 10 business days  before the session a full refund (less the 10% admin. fee) will be given.

If cancelled less than 10 business days before the class, a full refund will be given only if the slot can be filled.
